The K-pop boy band Stray Kids next month will perform for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs).

The group's management agency JYP Entertainment on Aug. 23 said Stray Kids on Sept. 12 will perform their hit "S-Class" at the annual event held at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Billboard on its official website on Aug. 22 said the boy band will make its MTV VMAs debut, adding that the group was nominated for Best K-pop last year for "Maniac." The eight-member act will perform "S-Class," the title track from its third regular album "5-Star released in June, in the song's U.S. broadcast premiere.

"S-Class" is nominated for Best K-Pop at this year's awards along with BLACKPINK's "Pink Venom," TOMORROW X TOGETHER's "Sugar Rush Ride," aespa's "Girls," FIFTY FIFTY's "Cupid" and SEVENTEEN's "Super."

"5-Star" is Stray Kids' third No. 1 entry on the Billboard 200 main albums chart, following last year's "Oddinary" and "Maxident."

Founded in 1984, the MTV VMAs are considered one of the four major music awards in the U.S. along with the Grammys, Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards.
