The eight-member K-pop boy band Stray Kids ranks second this year in U.S. album sales.

The group's management agency JYP Entertainment on Sept. 4 said Stray Kids trailed only American singer Taylor Swift in album sales based a post on the X (formerly Twitter) account of the U.S. music chart analysis site Chart Data.

Released in June, Stray Kids' third full-length album "★★★★★" (5-Star) is the No. 1 K-pop album in the U.S. this year. The group's EP "Maxident" that came out in October last year was also 10th in this category.

"5-Star" was fourth in album sales in the U.S., trailing Swift's "Midnights" and "Speak Now" and Travis Scott's "Utopia."

Following last year's EPs "Oddinary" and "Maxident," Stray Kids' third full-length album hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 main albums chart, making the group the second in K-pop after BTS to top the chart three times.

Stray Kids on Sept. 12 will perform their album's title track "S-Class" at this year's MTV Video Music Awards at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The boy band will also take the stage on Sept. 23 as the lone Asian act at the Global Citizen Festival held at New York's Central Park.
