Ads for Busan's bid to host the 2030 World Expo featuring the beauty of Korea such as Hanbok (traditional attire) and the traditional fan buchae are being shown in downtown Paris.

Busan Metropolitan City on Nov. 17 said it will run the outdoor ads to support the campaign through Nov. 28, when the event's host city will be announced.

The digital tower at the baggage claim area of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and screens on the outer walls of the shopping mall Citadium Paris display ads featuring a non-Korean wearing Hanbok and holding a fan with the phrase "Expo 2030 Busan."

A hundred taxis roaming the streets of central Paris are wrapped in banners featuring children wearing vibrant Hanbok and holding the Korean national flag Taegeukgi, along with the inscription "Busan Korea, World Expo 2030."

At its general assembly on Nov. 28 in the French capital, the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) will announce the event's host city from among the three contenders of Busan, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Rome.

"We will continue promotional activities to reach a consensus on the Busan Expo's hosting until the final moment before the host city's announcement," said Cho You-jang, director general of the 2030 Expo Bid Promotion Headquarters under the Busan municipal government. "We pledge to definitively capture the hearts of BIE member countries through our outdoor ads based on Korean beauty."
