A combined 3,000 influencer teams from about 50 countries will take part in an international convention for promoting the city of Seoul to the world and hold a countdown event for the new year.

Seoul Business Agency (SBA) said this year's Seoul Con, the world's first and largest influencer expo, will be held from Dec. 30 to Jan. 1 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul's Jung-gu District.

A combined 28 programs in the four categories of festivals, conferences, content, fashion and beauty, and performances and concerts will be held. Participating influencers will showcase places in Seoul to their combined three billion subscribers worldwide over the event period.

Six leading foreign influencers on Dec. 31 will wear Hanbok and take part in the annual ringing of the Bosingak Belfry in downtown Seoul to mark the new year. They are Anushka Sen, an Indian TV personality with 50 million subscribers; Kazakh Korean Kika Kim whose content features dance, singing and acting with 51 million; Philippine singer and actor Kristel Fulgar with 18.87 million; Elina Karimova, a Uzbekistan-born influencer who is a naturalized Korean citizen with 17 million; Kem from Vietnam with six million; and American model Cassandra Bankson with 3.7 million.

SBA said, "Through Seoul Con, we plan to make Seoul a hub city for the trends and business of the global single-person media sector."
