BroadCast Worldwide 2024 (BCWW), the largest international broadcast-video content marketing event in Asia, will be held later this month.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) will host the BCWW from Aug. 27-29 at the COEX Mall in Seoul's Gangnam-gu District.
The event will include various events to promote K-content and support companies' advances overseas, including an exhibition on broadcast-video content, business-matching programs, promotional events, demonstrations of content and K-format, and a lecture on the trends and outlook for the global broadcast-video industry.
The BCWW will have 412 booths running, in which 277 domestic corporations related to video and platforms will participate, marking a record-high number.
France, Japan and Taiwan will each hold a common facility and support corporations from their home countries participating in the event.
Leading local and foreign speakers will give lectures on the changing environment of the broadcast-video content industry and recent trends.
Actor Lee Jung-jae from "Squid Game" will give a talk on Aug. 27 with the theme of "Global pivot: K-content's standing."
Bon Factory, the producer of the Korean TV series "Lovely Runner" will give a talk on Aug. 28 on the reasons for the drama's global success. "Lovely Runner" marked the highest viewership on Rakuten Viki. an over-the-top (OTT) platform based in the U.S.
A promotional booth called "K-OTT" will be held from Aug. 24-30 on the first floor of the COEX to showcase videos, posters and items related to works jointly produced by the culture ministry and KOCCA.
