Germany's first radio program exclusively for K-pop has been launched.
Radio Fritz, a music station of the public network RBB (Berlin-Brandenburg Broadcasting), from Oct. 14 will air "Beste (Best) Musik K-Pop" every other Monday from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring K-pop, new K-pop singers and K-dramas.
The show's host Justin Timpe is a broadcaster who is an expert on K-pop as well as an avid fan.
"Korean pop culture has long been part of the daily lives of Germans," RBB said in a statement. "K-pop fans and anyone interested will have an exciting time thanks to BLACKPINK, kimchi, Stray Kids, KCON, NewJeans and Itaewon Class."
Yang Sangkeun, director of the Korean Cultural Center in Berlin who worked with RBB for several months on the program before its launch, also recorded the opening line "Fritz Radio's Best K-pop Music with Justin Timpe" in Korean. This comment will be aired at the start of every show.
Anyone can listen to the program in real time on Fritz Radio's official website (www.fritz.de) or its app.
