A festival in Seoul will showcase the country's leading souvenirs in one place.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization on Nov. 20 announced their joint hosting of the Souvenir Fair 2024 from Nov. 20-23 at Art Hall 1 of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul.
With about 120 companies participating under the theme "Festive Souvenir Town," this event will have over 100 promotional booths decorated as houses to create a village-like atmosphere. Visitors can also make and sample award-winning souvenirs.
Twenty-five winning entries in this year's Korea Tourist Souvenir Contest will be displayed at the awards exhibition section of the hall, including six from the new local specialty category. The event will also promote and sell trending souvenirs such as processed foods, crafts, household goods and fashion accessories.
Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Miran said, "We will continue actively searching for hidden tourist souvenirs from all corners of the country and expand contact points with tourists through increased collaboration and support."
