The Osaka-Kansai World Expo in Japan is holding cultural events showcasing traditional and contemporary Korean culture to mark Korea Day.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Seoul on May 13 said that to mark the occasion, the event "Korea Collection" features Korean music, beauty, a Hanbok (traditional clothing) fashion show and 54 booths with the participation of local governments.
Other events include the Korea Tourism Festa, which promotes the nation's famed attractions, Korean Drama Exhibition, which spotlights K-dramas and their filming locations, and the K-pop-themed "M Concert."
"Korea Collection" at Expo Hall will have K-pop singer K-will perform at its "live" section. Cosmetic experts and models will demonstrate Korean cosmetics at the "beauty" corner and the Hanbok show will be held at the "fashion" section.
At the event's exhibition center, the Korea Tourism Festa will have 11 participating tourism venture companies with destinations for remote work (workcation), bicycle tours and programs for senior citizens.
"M Concert" will start at 6 p.m. at the expo's arena and feature six K-pop acts: Jung Yong Hwa of CNBLUE, TWS, ViViZ, Kep1er, Me:1 and Hi-Fi Un!corn.
In the morning on the same day, Korea's National Research Institute of Maritime Heritage in front of Asia and Pacific Trade Center held a welcoming ceremony for eight members of the Joseon Tongsinsa, or envoys to Japan from Korea's Joseon Dynasty, highlighting the history and culture of the diplomats. An reenactment of Tongsinsa's procession was scheduled in the afternoon.
