RM, a member of the K-pop boy band BTS, has been named Favorite K-Pop Artist by the American Music Awards (AMA), one of the top three music honors of the U.S.

The AMA's official website on May 26 announced this at its 2025 awards ceremony held at the resort and casino Fontainebleau Las Vegas.

Launched in 2022, the honor of Favorite K-Pop Artist had as nominees this year fellow BTS member Jimin, ATEEZ, Rosé of BLACKPINK and Stray Kids. RM and Jimin also received AMA nominations as solo artists for the first time.

Founded in 1974, the awards recognize the year's most influential artists as one of the top three music honors of the U.S. along with the Grammys and Billboard Music Awards.

In 2017, BTS became the first Korean act to perform at the AMAs and won an award there for five consecutive years from 2018-22. In 2021, it punctuated its global superstardom by winning Artist of the Year.

In addition, "Don't Say You Love Me," the latest song from BTS member Jin, topped the May 25 chart for Daily Top Songs Global on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
