The musical "Maybe Happy Ending" has earned six Tony Awards of the U.S. including that for Best Musical.
Korean media outlets including Yonhap News on June 9 said writer Park Chun-hue, aka Hue Park, and composer Will Aronson won Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre at the awards' preshow at Radio City Hall in New York.
The work also won Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role and Best Scenic Design.
Dubbed the Oscars of theater and musicals, the Tonys are the top honors in American performing arts.
"Maybe Happy Ending" is an original work about Oliver and Claire, two humanoid robots that help humans, who fall in love in a futuristic Seoul.
Debuting in Korea in 2016, the musical opened on Broadway in New York in November last year.
