A monthlong event in Seoul offers Korean beauty products such as for hair, cosmetics, fashion, medical and wellness.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on June 17 announced that it will host the Korea Beauty Festival from June 19 to July 18 jointly with the Visit Korea Committee and the Korea Tourism Organization.

Held for the second time this year, the festival is using the slogan "New Me," referring to a journey in which foreign nationals discover a new beauty within through Korean beauty.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for June 19 at 7 p.m. at Oullim Square of Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). There, Second Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Jang Miran will give a congratulatory speech, followed by a musical performance and events to celebrate the festival's launch.

A comprehensive base around Art Hall and Oullim Square of DDP from June 19-22 will offer experiences in the five major categories of Korean beauty: hair, makeup, fashion, medical and wellness tourism content.

Seven promotional bases linked to corporate spaces will be set up in neighborhoods frequented by foreign visitors in the capital like Myeong-dong, Dongdaemun, Seongsu-dong, Gangnam, Hongdae and Cheonggyecheon Stream.

About 520 companies and institutions will participate in the airline, accommodations and shopping sectors in addition to the five beauty categories to offer benefits to such tourists like discounts on products and services.

A free shuttle bus service will run three times a day linking DDP, Myeong-dong Welcome Center and Olympic Park in connection with My K-Festa during the integrated hub period.
