K-pop sensation BTS, with all seven members having completed their mandatory military service, will resume group activity by releasing a new album and beginning a world tour in spring next year.

The announcement came on July 1 during a live broadcast titled "BTS is Back" on Weverse, the group's platform for its global fan community.

The boy band's last album "Proof" and last concert "Yet to Come in Busan" came in 2022.

BTS will officially resume activity as a group this month.

"We will communicate as much as possible live (on Weverse) and social media, so give us some time and we'll show you results, "BTS leader RM said. "We're working on our album in the U.S."

"We'll work hard and fast so that you won't have to wait too long," member Jimin added. "I'm so happy just by everyone being together."
