The two virtual K-pop groups from the Netflix animated musical "KPop Demon Hunters," will vie for a major honor at the K-World Dream Awards.

The awards' organizing committee said "Golden" by Huntrix (HUNTR/X) and "Soda Pop" by Saja Boys were each nominated for Best OST (Original Soundtrack).

Thus both acts are competing for a major domestic award in the real world.

The two songs are also making waves on Billboard's main singles chart, the Hot 100. Billboard on July 28 said "Golden" placed No. 2 on the chart, surpassing the highest placement of fifth by "Let it Go" from the Disney blockbuster "Frozen" (2013).

The other nominees for Best OST are "When the Day Comes" by TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) and "Forever" by boy band EXO member D.O., two tracks from the soundtrack of the medical drama "Resident Playbook."

Jamsil Arena in Seoul's Songpa-gu District is the venue of the Aug. 21 awards ceremony. Groups like BTOB, Stray Kids, TXT and CRAVITY will perform on stage.
