The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from Aug. 7-10 hosts the annual Hanbok Expo with the Korea Craft and Design Foundation at D Hall of COEX Mall in Seoul's Gangnam-gu District.

The country's lone Hanbok exhibition will see the biggest edition in its history with 150 participating brands. Slated for sale at discounts of up to 80% include traditional and modernized versions of the outfits as well as daily items such as fabric, hair ribbons and accessories, and apparel ornaments.

Held under the theme "Hanbok with Four Seasons," this year's event displays the beauty and meaning of the attire in versions for each season through complex cultural events such as interactive programs and exhibitions.

"Hanbok has recently appeared in diverse K-content and gained the spotlight as a symbol of Korean tradition and beauty," Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism for Culture and Arts Policy Lee Jung Woo said. "We hope that the culture of wearing Hanbok not only for special occasions but also in daily lives spreads."
