The hit "Golden" from the soundtrack to the Netflix animated musical "KPop Demon Hunters" has topped Billboard's main singles chart Hot 100.

The American music magazine and media on Aug. 11 said in a chart preview story that the song by the virtual girl group Huntrix (HUNTR/X) "glows as the first Hot 100 leader for the act," beating "Ordinary" by Alex Warren for No. 1.

This is the ninth K-pop song to top the Hot 100 and the first by a female K-pop act.

The songs in the film were all voiced by Korean Americans. Billboard said Huntrix singers EJAE and REI AMI were born in Seoul while Nuna is from New Jersey. EJAE was also a trainee of SM Entertainment, one of Korea's leading entertainment agencies.

The Hot 100 rankings are based on U.S. streaming data, radio airplay scores and sales data.

"Golden" showed a 9% increase in the number of streams (31.7 million), 71% jump in radio airplay (8.4 million listener impressions) and 35% rise in sales (7,000 copies) from the previous week.

Earlier this month, the hit also reached the peak of the British Official Singles Chart Top 100, making it the first single to top the U.S. and U.K. top charts.
