BroadCast Worldwide (BCWW), Asia's largest marketing event for broadcast video content, will be held next month in Seoul.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Aug. 19 announced that it will host the expo from Sept. 16-19 jointly with the Korea Creative Content Agency at COEX Mall in Seoul's Gangnam-gu District.
Marking its 25th year, BCWW is Asia's largest event for the over-the-top (OTT) market, backing the export of Korean content as a channel for domestic and foreign video industry figures to exchange information.
Last year's expo attracted about 10,000 people from 30 countries and resulted in the conclusion of export deals worth USD 86.24 million dollars (KRW 119.7 billion).
Under the theme "Window to What's Next," this year's event will support content and platform exhibitions, demonstrations and business consultations among production companies, buyers and investors.
France is this year's guest country of honor to mark the 140th anniversary of its bilateral ties with Korea set for next year. Figures from the French National Centre of Cinema, OTT platforms, cinema and animation will attend.
At the "K-OTT" promotional pavilion, which is open to the public, domestic streaming sites such as Coupang Play and Tving will introduce their content and works slated for release in the second half of the year.
More information is on the official website for this year's BCWW (https://bcww.kr).
