Zhang Lu (Jang Ryul), a third-generation Korean Chinese director, on Sept. 26 won Best Film of the inaugural Busan Awards for "Gloaming in Luomu" at the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF).
His movie is the story of a woman who receives a postcard from her boyfriend who disappeared three years ago. She travels to the small Chinese town of Luomo after tracing the route of the postcard there, and discovers traces of her past love.
"I won the New Currents Award at the 10th BIFF, and 20 years later, I'm standing here again," Lu said. "I hope to be here even at the 100th festival."
