"APT." by Rosé of K-pop girl group BLACKPINK and U.S. singer Bruno Mars is the first K-pop song to be the world's top-selling hit of the year.
The London-based International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) on Feb. 19 said on its official website that "APT." topped its Global Single Chart for 2025.
Rosé is the first singer from outside North America and Europe to pull off this feat.
The soundtrack to the animated blockbuster "KPop Demon Hunters" placed two songs on this chart: "Golden" at No. 2 and "Soda Pop" at No. 13.
Stray Kids ranked second on IFPI's Global Artist Chart for 2025. (Group's official Facebook page)
Earlier on Feb. 18, IFPI said the boy band Stray Kids placed second on its Global Artist Chart last year and fellow K-pop group SEVENTEEN 14th.
Since entering the chart at No. 7 in 2022, Stray Kids have ranked within the chart's top 10 for four consecutive years.
IFPI annually releases its global artist and single charts based on album sales, music downloads and streaming data.
