Rosé of the girl group BLACKPINK is the first K-pop singer to win a Brit Award, the top pop music honor of the U.K.
On Feb. 28, she earned International Song of the Year at the awards ceremony in the British city of Manchester for "APT," her hit duet with Bruno Mars.
"It is such an honor to be receiving this award in front of so many talented and admirable musicians here in the U.K.," she said at the ceremony. "First of all, Bruno, I'm receiving this award on behalf of us. Thank you so much for everything, for being the biggest mentor and best friend."
"I would like to give a shoutout to BLACKPINK. Jennie, Jisoo and Lisa, I love you guys so much. Thank you for always inspiring me."
The hit "Golden" from the soundtrack to the animated blockbuster "KPop Demon Hunters" was also nominated for International Song of the Year. The song's singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami sang it at the ceremony despite not winning the award.

The movie, however, did earn an award from the Producers Guild of America, adding to its Golden Globe and Grammy wins.
The guild on its website on March 2 said the film's producer Michelle Wong won Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Picture at the awards ceremony on Feb. 28 in Los Angeles.
This honor comes a few weeks before the Academy Awards, the top honor of the American film industry, and is considered a key indicator for predicting Oscar winners.
