Apps for students and teachers of the Korean language worldwide have received a major update.

The King Sejong Institute Foundation on March 5 said it released the 2.0 versions of Sonaneui (In the Hand) Sejong Hakdang and Sejong Hakdang AI Seonsaengnim (Teachers).

Reflecting user needs, the latest versions focus on lowering the entry barrier for beginner students and boosting practical conversations at the advanced level.

An introductory course was added to the flagship student app, and the game-based content "Challenge: Find the Hidden Hangeul" was expanded to boost learner engagement.

The use of 3D characters and high-resolution images using the foundation's characters were also used to improve the learning environment.

The addition of generative AI to the teacher app seeks to expand the range of service to advanced levels, allowing learners to boost their communication skills through free dialogue on various topics.

And the new content "Korean Word of the Day" raises student access to the language in daily life through practice of one sentence a day.

Both apps are available for free download on the Google Play Store and Apple's App Store.
