Prodigy Lee Jueon, 14, has won the Hilton Head International Piano Competition of the U.S.

The Kumho Cultural Foundation on March 22 said Lee placed first at the event on March 21 in the resort town of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

His winning performance was the first movement of Chopin's Piano Concerto No. 1.

Lee earned prize money of USD 12,000 and the opportunity to perform with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra.

Debuting in 2023 at the Kumho Young Talent Concert, the prodigy won first place and three special awards at the Osaka International Music Competition of Japan. He is being homeschooled after dropping out of Yewon School in Seoul.
