A combined 18.4 million people around the world on March 21 watched the livestream of "BTS Comeback Live: Arirang," marking the return of the K-pop phenomenon, at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul's Jongno-gu District.
Netflix on March 25 announced the number, saying it represented those who watched the event within 24 hours of the event.
The broadcast overwhelmingly topped the streaming site's chart for shows not in English with 13.1 million views last week (March 16-22).
It reached No. 1 on the weekly charts of 24 countries including Korea, Mexico, Japan, the Philippines and Indonesia and ranked in the top 10 in 80 countries.
Data on Seoul's resident population released on March 27 cited 75,927 people in the area around Gwanghwamun Square, Deoksugung Palace and City Hall Station, the three main sites of the concert, during the concert period of 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. Among them, foreign visitors accounted for about 25% (19,170), with most from Thailand, Vietnam, India and Japan in that order.
