A festival where Hallyu (Korean Wave) fans from around the world can enjoy Korean culture opens late this month in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on June 23 announced its joint hosting with the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange (KOFICE) of the annual MyK Festa at Sonokam Goyang and the convention center KINTEX.

Marking its second year, the event will include programs such as K-pop concerts, pop-up stores manned by Korean culture companies, themed talk shows and export consultations.

The K-pop concerts will run from June 26-27 at KINTEX Hall 1 with acts like TREASURE, P1Harmony, tripleS, RIIZE, EVNNE and Hearts2Hearts on June 26 and HIGHLIGHT, Wendy, EPEX, ZeroBaseOne and others the following day.

Pop-up stores featuring about 100 Korean culture companies and institutions are also scheduled. Leading companies in diverse sectors such as Nongshim, Dong-A Pharmaceutical and Musinsa, public agencies such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and local governments such as Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do Province, and Jangheung-gun County, Jeollanam-do Province, will showcase the wide-ranging appeal of Korean culture.

Export consultations for 200 participating domestic companies and about 140 from abroad will also be held. Global online platforms such as Amazon, Alibaba and Qoo10 Japan will hold consultations for domestic companies seeking entry into their platforms.

More information on the event's content and schedule are available on the festival's official website (www.mykfesta.com) and social media.

The ministry said, "We will create a virtuous cycle in which interest in Korean content stimulates the overseas expansion of Korean culture companies and a rise in the number of foreign tourists."
