Domestic content in the first half of the year maintained its steady dominance on Netflix.
The Netflix report "What We Watched" released on July 17 said viewing time on the streaming platform between January and June reached 97 billion hours worldwide, an all-time high for a six-month period.
Content not in English accounted for over a third of viewership, while that from Korea, Japan and Spain showed the highest viewership share.
By K-drama, "Teach You A Lesson" attracted 48.2 million views since its release last month, followed by "Can This Love Be Translated?" (28.6 million), "The Art of Sarah" (25.8 million) and "Squid Game" (14.4 million), all of which contributed to the strong performance of Hallyu (Korean Wave) content.
The films "The Great Flood," "Husbands in Action" and "Pavane" also commanded high global popularity, as well as the reality shows "Culinary Class Wars" (Season 2) and the dating series "Single's Inferno" (Season 5).
