First on Hanbok Day (Oct. 21) is the opening ceremony at the museum including an awards event to honor individuals who have contributed to Hanbok culture, a fashion show to showcase five Hanbok brands and a congratulatory performance by Kim Yoon-ah, vocalist of the domestic rock band Jaurim.
At Gyeongbokgung, the campaign "Wear Hanbok the Right Way" promotes the unique beauty of Hanbok and proper wearing etiquette, along with an exhibition of traditional Hanbok.
Other regions will host programs featuring their respective cultural heritage at Hanbok cultural centers in places like Gangneung, Gangwon-do Province; Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do Province; Busan; Gyeongsangbuk-do Province; and Jeollanam-do Province.
Over the event period, visitors wearing Hanbok get discounts on free admission to attractions such as Lotte World (50%), Seoul Sky (35%) and Saturday Gugak Concert (50%) at the National Gugak Center in Seoul. They can also try experiential activities and events.
Abroad, countries like Canada, Japan and Denmark will host programs featuring wearing Hanbok and proper etiquette on wearing it.
