Netflix has marked the 10th anniversary of its launch in Korea, opening a section on its website showing its achievements through its decade-long collaboration with Korea's creative industry.

The website said Netflix from 2016-25 worked with over 80 production companies to create or co-produce some 200 Korean works, with about 80% of subscribers worldwide saying they have watched Korean content.

More than 25,000 cast and crew members, along with an estimated 70,000 extras and day workers, were involved in Korean productions over the period. Filming occurred in around 100 cities and towns nationwide.

Over 200 Korean works have made Netflix's Global Top 10 since the list's launch in 2021. The first season of "Squid Game" spent 32 consecutive weeks on the list -- including nine weeks at No. 1 -- the longest consecutive run in the rankings by a Korean title.

More than a third of Netflix's Korean originals released over the past three years have featured first-time directors or writers. From 2021 through last year, the streaming giant also ran programs to boost domestic production capacities and training to provide opportunities to over 6,500 participants.

To mark the milestone, Netflix held the Netflix Janchi (Festival) from Oct. 24-25 at Oil Tank Culture Park in Seoul's Mapo-gu District. A-list actors from popular K-dramas and films on the platform attended including Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Park Hae-soo and Gong Yoo from "Squid Game," Jung Hae-in and Song Hye-kyo.
