The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) on Feb. 21 released a list of 51 specialized tourist destinations.

For fans of Hallyu (the Korean wave), the 51 were grouped by major Hallyu-themed attractions such as K-pop, drama, and movie filming sites.

The sightseeing recommendations will introduce some 200 tourist sites under six themes, including K-pop, Hallyu stars, Korean dramas, variety shows and films.

The courses include places shown in K-pop music videos, popular dramas and movies such as "Vincenzo" and "Hometown Cha Cha Cha."

It will also introduce fan experiences including the location of popular entertainment programs and Euljiro Pocha Street.

Further information and images of the 51 destination routes can be found in the beta service of Korea Tourism Content Lab (conlab.visitkorea.or.kr)

Of the 51, the KTO has selected 14 main courses to be published in a guidebook titled “Hallyuwiki,” which includes seven in the Seoul metropolitan area and seven outside the capital region.

The Korean guidebook is available on the Visit Korea (korean.visitkorea.or.kr) website and application in an e-book format.

English, Japanese and Chinese editions will be released in mid March.

Kim Dongil, an executive director of the Hallyu Contents Department at the KTO said, "We expect the 51 selected courses can help the tourist industry in commercializing Hallyu tours," adding, "In the wake of normalizing air travel, we will continue our efforts to promote various courses with Hallyu content for the increasing number of tourists visiting Korea who are fans."
