Travelers from May 22 can drop off their luggage at a subway station in Seoul in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon at the international airport in Incheon or Gimpo later in the day.
Seoul Metro that day announced the launch of the service T-luggage, which offers same-day delivery of baggage between the capital's two international airports and select subway stations.
Users can leave their suitcases at a station on their way to work and retrieve them after work at either airport. Foreign tourists can leave their bags at a station near their hotel and pick them up at their airport of departure in the evening after traveling.
The service is available online and on-site, but online users must reserve a day in advance.
On-site reservations can be made at Hanjin Logistics' parcel delivery offices at Terminals 1 and 2 of the Incheon airport and through T-luggage counters at the stations of Seoul, Hongik University, Myeongdong and Gimpo International Airport.
The counters offer storage and delivery services at the stations' convenience facilities.
T-luggage's official website (http://tluggage.co.kr) accepts online applications in English, Chinese and Japanese for the convenience of international users.
Both offline and on-site applications have the same pick-up and drop-off Hanjin Logistics offices at the two airports and T-luggage counters at the four stations.
The service cost ranges from KRW 17,000 to KRW 45,000 depending on the size of luggage, delivery area and use on weekdays or weekends.
Because the number of weekend users is double that of those on weekdays, the weekend rate is KRW 8,000 to KRW 14,000 to more evenly distribute demand.
Seoul Metro from the middle of next month will expand T-luggage to other parts of the capital, with delivery to hotels under consideration.
