The new year of 2024 is dawning, namely Gapjinnyeon, or the Year of the Blue Dragon under the East Asian zodiac. Under the Asian theory of the five elements, blue symbolizes the east, which heralds the beginning of life, and a blue dragon is considered a sacred guardian of the eastern world, making it an auspicious creature.
