The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on Oct. 16 announced a variety of tourism content in cooperation with the Korea Tourism Organization to promote fall travel through the campaign "Visit Every Corner of Korea in Autumn."
Discounts of 30% are offered for some 70 regional tourism programs under 11 themes including "cultural vacation" highlighting each area's unique culture; "local festa" promoting provincial festivals in autumn; "local story" that immerses visitors into a place's unique history; and "detox travel" that offers an escape from the city to fully feel fall.
A sale on rural village tours offers up to a 50% discount in a joint venture between the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Korea Rural Community Corp.
The one-day train tour "Here in Autumn" takes about 2,000 visitors to 24 small cities nationwide. Participants visit three regions per trip for a combined 24 to experience regional attractions and specialties and traditional culture and markets.
The program "Travel Companion Yeo Jin-goo" has the actor going with participants to Gapyeong-gun County, Gyeonggi-do Province.
More information on the program's discounts and events and how to take part is on the campaign's website: https://korean.visitkorea.or.kr/travelmonth.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yu In Chon said, "We've prepared affordable and diverse travel content to allow memorable trips in autumn that people have waited for after enduring the scorching summer heat."
