A pop-up store for domestic rice and processed food on Dec. 12 opened at Gimpo International Airport in Seoul's Gangseo-gu District.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Dec. 11 said that through Jan. 31, it will run the store on the first floor of the airport's international airline terminal.
On sale is about 30 products including high-quality rice from eight provinces, small packaged rice and processed foods made from rice, wheat and soybeans, as well as top-grade rice and winners of competitions for rice processing items and the K-Rice Festa.
Foreign visitors can directly purchase small items and put larger ones in their check-in luggage on the second floor. Those headed for Japan can receive a quarantine certificate on site from a resident quarantine officer.
In cooperation with the Korea Tourism Organization, the ministry will give souvenirs to international tourists who upload selfies of their visit to the store on social media.
