Korea.net has launched a new collaborative project with its honorary reporters around the world. Each honorary reporter will write a story on the same topic, but from each of their own home cities. The stories will then be shared with our community of Korea.net readers.
For the first subject in the series, Korea.net asked our honorary reporters to send in a touching story from their home communities. Here's our sixth story on this subject, from Russia.
When you look at this 8-year-old girl with an angel face, you cannot imagine how many difficulties and hardships she has already overcome.
When Yaroslava was 5, her family got into a horrible car accident and the girl was so seriously injured that she couldn't even walk. Yaroslava got several serious surgeries, including the replacement of an eyeball and the insertion of a pin into the leg.
The girl's mother was worried because her daughter had to relearn how to move and to walk. However, little Yaroslava was always positive and cheered on by her mother.
Despite her young age, the girl kept going to achieve her dream, a dream to sing. Finally, at the age of 7, she has risen to the big stage as part of the project “The Voice of Russia: Kids,” and has become one of the finalists on the show. Her special tender voice moved the audience: Yaroslava has won the hearts of millions of people.
Now, Yaroslava continues with her rehabilitation. She is going on tour with concerts and visits hospitals to cheer on other little patients and to sing for them.
