Nur jannah ZulkifliThe Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in Malaysia joined Matta Fair 2018 to promote interesting places in Korea. The event was held for three days from March 16 to 18 at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) in Kuala Lumpur. Some other countries from around the world took part in the Matta Fair to promote their countries, as well. The main benefit of the event was that it provided discount prices for those who love to travel.
Many booths were opened by the KTO, such as Jeollabuk-do Province, Gangwon-do Province, the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Chungcheongbuk-do Province, Tongyeong City and the Busan Tourism Organization. At another booth, visitors were able to try some traditional Korean tea that was good for their health. Many visitors explored and experienced Korean traditions, as there were a lot of activities and games provided from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Visitors could get more information about the places that they plan to visit, as explained by the staff, and also read the handouts and pamphlets provided. Those who visited the KTO booth got to know what kind of activities they could enjoy during a vacation and special places for those who wanted to try some special Korean cuisine, especially for Muslims who generally prefer halal food.
Trying on some traditional Hanbok attire is a fun activity at the tourism fair.
If they purchased a package tour, they were given some gifts, such as a Thermos, a prayer set or a tote bag. There were also special snacks for those who already participated in the event, called the “Pin Your Destiny Online Contest,” before the fair officially started.
Finally, visitors had a chance to try on some traditional Korean Hanbok clothes for free and have a photo session with their friends or family members. Other fun activities included other photo sessions, some K-pop cover dances and a quiz show related to Korea.
It was a great event for those who love to travel on a low budget, because of the more discounts they can get when purchasing a package tour at a travel fair, and the prices were totally reasonable for everyone.
