President Moon Jae-in waves to the crowds along Gukhoe-daero in Yeouido, Seoul, after being sworn in as the new president, at the National Assembly on May 10.

Korea's new super hero is already out there. Who do you think I'm talking about? Amadeus Cho? The White Fox? Luna Snow, Marvel's well-known Korean super heroes? No, no and no. It’s the country’s president, Moon Jae-in.

President Moon Jae-in is considered to be the person who brought together Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un at the table to begin dialogue. The world became just crazy about him when the first news regarding April’s summit was released and, of course, it has become even stronger after President Moon finally got to meet North Korean leader in person on April, 27. Both of them turned out to be very respectful and extremely polite to each other, expressing their gratitude by tenderly shaking hands and hugging each other while having "a cute conversation," it was reported, on both sides of the Korean demarcation line.

All those unbelievable changes are just the results that logically come from the government policy that President Moon has being implementing since his inauguration. It’s been a year already since the people of Korea elected him as their state representative in the political arena. Since that unprecedented moment, the country’s policy direction has been changed dramatically, and, of course, lots of other perks within the country have also been happening for a long time.

For me as a person who has been living here for almost two years, I can say that the country is changing, for sure. It's now one step closer to reunification, which, without any doubt, will make Korea politically stronger in the future. Obviously, the country is also becoming more stable economically, since thousands of people were attracted to visit Korea during the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. The last, but not least, thing for me is the fact that a social movement, which aims to fight sexual violence and sexual harassment, also known as the #MeToo movement, is surprisingly strong and respected in Korea.

All in all, Korea has never been this close to the end of its long-lasting war. Of course, for the unity of Korea, all these changes are happening because of President Moon's stable policy direction. As a result, the people of Korea have become much more positive about their future, where their parents and grandparents can eventually be reunited with other family members without any limitations, like special permissions or meeting time limits.

That's a great start, Mr. President! Change is coming, and may the force be with you!
