YouTube Korean food ambassador Maangchi or Ms. Kim was born and raised in Korea and has a master’s degree in education and teaching and lives in New York. She never studied culinary arts but learned all about traditional food from her mom, aunts and grandmothers and always was interested in cooking. She used to love online games and play them all the time. Then her children recommended she do cooking videos. She thought no one would watch them but wanting to correct the Korean recipes online was her motivation. Now she has more than 2.8 million subscribers, 300 million views, and people say she is the promoter of Korean cuisine.
A lot of interviews, stories and reports have been written about her in the media, including an article in The New York Times, an interview by Fox 9 TV, and a report on KBS. She uploads a new episode every week and has more than 300 recipes.
Her website includes all her recipes from her YouTube channel. She has published a cookbook “Real Korean Cooking” in English, which took more than two years to make. This book includes traditional-style and authentic Korean dishes. Some recipes have never before been published in English. Also her cookbook was translated into German and you can find it on the Amazon website.
You can even enjoy twisted Korean doughnut kkwabaegi at home with YouTube food ambassador Maangchi's recipes.

For as long as we have been interested in Korean culture we have always wanted to try cooking a recipe ourselves, and she was such a great inspiration. Many years ago we tried her easy kimchi recipe, and it was a 100% success. Bibimbap was so easy too and also her spicy
oi-muchim side dish made of cucumber. While writing about her, we wanted to recreate some of her most famous recipes and to be honest we loved it. She’s such a great ambassador for Korean food to everyone all around the world. You’d never find hate through her social media comments. Also her videos get translated to at least 25 different languages by her subscribers. Her platform is such a bright and vibrant area. We’d really love to meet her in person.
“Beginners can cook my recipes,” Maangchi says. And this is the goal of her videos. We love her style of teaching as it’s very simple and easy to understand. We made a lot of recipes from her videos and we totally recommend her YouTube channel. You will enjoy making real Korean food.
