Korean skincare products are getting more popular in Egypt.
Roufida Abouelwafa loves almost all Korean skincare products and knows a lot about them. Here, she will demonstrate how to use one such product that I find quite interesting through the characters Barodiso and Roadiat.
To be honest, Barodiso is kind of clueless about these products, so Roadiat will teach Barodiso more about them.
Bardise: This is the first time I've seen a foam mask. What makes a foam mask different from other masks?
Roufida: A foam mask can be considered an extra step in facial cleansing, especially for pores, while a regular sheet mask is for adding moisture to help plump and hydrate the skin.
Bardise: Which mask do you prefer, foam or regular?
Roufida: I think it depends on conditions and what your skin needs at a certain time. If you travel a lot and don't want to pack too many skincare products, carrying sheet masks that can cleanse and hydrate the skin is a smarter option.
Bardise: What makes Korean facial masks different from other masks?
Roufida: The Korean beauty industry was the first to come up with the sheet mask idea, so Korean ones are cheaper and of higher quality than Western brands. And you can choose from a huge collection of Korean sheet masks.
Bardise: Korea is so far away from Egypt. Do you find it difficult to buy these masks here in Egypt?
Roufida: Yes, it's hard as Egypt has no platform to sell Korean beauty products other than a few online stores. But Egyptian consumers can hopefully attract the attention of Korean brands in the future.
Bardise: How do you use this mask?
Roufida: First cleanse your skin and apply a toner, and after removing the film from the sheet mask, adjust it around the eye and mouth areas and let the bubbling effect starts. Leave it on for 10-20 minutes, and then remove the mask and gently rub in the remaining serum until fully absorbed. You can either wash the excess serum off with lukewarm water or let it sit.

Bardise: Can I still use it if I have sensitive skin?
Roufida: If your skin isn't sensitive to any of the mask's ingredients, you can use it. You can check that by applying a little of the sheet mask serum on your wrist. If your skin shows no negative reaction, then you're good to go.
Bardise: Why do you think Korean masks are so popular?
Roufida: They're popular for many reasons. They're affordable, found online everywhere, practical, portable and a fast way to pamper yourself. Many Korean celebrities also use them.
Bardise: Can Korean masks be used every day? Will it hurt or damage my skin?
Roufida: If you include them in a good skincare routine, they can be used daily without damaging or hurting your skin.
