On June 1, I attended the first of two BTS concerts at London's Wembley Stadium. Seeing this colorful mass of over 60,000 people, I will discuss here my two big loves: fashion and K-pop.

What these fans chose to wear this day represented both their ideas of fashion and the inspiration they got from the group. Like BTS, their colorful styles ranged from cute to edgy and postmodern and high-fashion elements were also seen through handcrafted items such as jackets, belts and pants. The fans were all about freedom of expression and love for their favorite group.

The following are faces I saw on the first day of the BTS tour "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" in London.
Bev, 51, and Eleanor, 14 (London). This mother and daughter decided on wearing matching striped shorts, T-shirts with the name of BTS' last album and matching fuzzy sandals. This shows a leading trend set by Korean fashion: the matching couple look.

Chauli (Netherlands). This Dutch fan chose jeans and a beautifully draping shirt, complemented by long earrings similar to those BTS members are famous for and a flower crown that is a signature element of the group's concerts.

Gareena, 18, (London) and Filsan, 17 (Bristol). These two met on Twitter and their shared love for BTS brought them to the concert in London. Though their styles are considerably different, they both incorporated pink in their outfits, probably because of the #WembleyTurnsPinkForBTS tag on Twitter.

Anoosha Ismaic, 22 (Glasgow, Ireland). With heavy makeup and a net-like chain accessory around her waist, she reminded me so much of the bold fashion style of Korean idols.

Jessica Woolston, 13 (U.K.). When talking about patterns, Jessica's outfit was probably the most extravagant among all the ones I saw at the concert. Her dress shows a collage of all BTS members making funny faces.

Uma, 17 (Denmark). Her distinctive style reminded me so much of the group, even if not taken out straight from one of its videos. The choice of colors, patterns and materials and the collision of style elements would have made me think of BTS even if we saw each other at the other end of the city, not by the stadium doors.

Yasmin, 24, and Andrew, 26 (London). The incredible fashion sense of these siblings was stunning. Yasmin appeared as a retro Hollywood star with her hairstyle and A-line skirt, and Andrew was awesome with his color-coordinated shirt and socks. He said,

This event made it seem as if everyone at Wembley heeded what BTS leader RM said at the United Nations General Assembly last year: "We have learned to love ourselves so now I urge you to speak yourself."
