Thousands of Hallyu fans in Russia visited the K-content Expo 2019 Russia at Moscow's Crocus City Hall from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4. The most loyal fans began lining up for the event from Aug. 30 to be among the first to enter the exhibition. The event opened with performances by K-pop artists CLC, Soyou, SF9 and Onoff.

A variety of people united by their shared love of the Korean Wave flocked to this event. Booths there introduced visitors to Korean food, medical technology, animation, webtoons (online comics) and video games as well as offer information on popular Korean dramas and their creators.

On Aug. 31, a lottery before the K-pop performances awarded as the main prizes front-row tickets to a K-pop concert, the opportunity to attend an autograph session with K-pop acts, character souvenirs and official expo T-shirts.

Honorary guests of the K-content Expo made welcoming speeches, with Korean Ambassador to Russia Lee Sok-bae earning thunderous applause that apparently caused him to change what he was going to say.

"My first secretary prepared the text of my speech, but I think that this doesn't correspond to the solemn atmosphere of this hall,” Lee said in Russian. He went on to congratulate everyone at the event, praised the coordination and results of the organizers, and said many more events will be at the K-content expo next year, which will mark the 30th anniversary of bilateral relations between Seoul and Moscow.

In addition, cartoonist Lee Jong-beom, creator of the popular webtoon "Dr. Frost," held an exhibition that began with K-pop performances.
