The first songwriting camp in Bulgaria held in May this year was designed to further develop the potential of Bulgarian songwriters, music producers and artists and build long-lasting relationships between them and proven music creators worldwide so they can create successful collaborations.

A song created during the camp is now part of the eighth album of the leading K-pop girl group Twice. "Rainbow" is the first song written by Bulgarians to hit the Korean market. The songwriters are Mihaela Marinova, a finalist in the reality show "X Factor Bulgaria" in 2015, Nicole Kaneva, a member of the K-pop dance cover group 4Magic, and the successful Swedish production duo JeL comprising Alex Karlsson and Alexej Viktorovitch.

"I'm proud to say that together with these unique talents, we've created something extraordinary that will soon be a fact. I'm grateful to have been able to work with them and make this a reality," Kaneva said.

Sanya Armutlieva, CEO of the Bulgarian label Virginia Records, said, "One of the most valuable things I do for all Virginia Records artists is develop them as music writers. It's very important to have more artists in Bulgaria write their own songs as well as those of their colleagues. In addition to being a parallel second career and a revenue source, authorship also gives rise to a type of independence that is of utmost importance to any artist. The song is the most important element of our business, so I created the first songwriting camp in Bulgaria."

Twice's album "Feel Special" was released on Sept. 23 in Korea.
