The Korea Creative Content Agency from Oct. 3-6 hosted the 2019 Indonesia K-Content Expo in Jakarta, with the co-sponsors being the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Indonesia Creative Economy Committee.
Also made possible thanks to cooperation from the Korea Tourism Organization, the Korean Cultural Center and the Korean Embassy, the event aimed to promote a sustainable new form of Hallyu and expand demand for and awareness of Korean content in Indonesia.
A variety of programs tailored for Indonesians included export consultations, networking receptions, sessions with domestic experts, K-pop performances, displays of Korean beauty, fashion, food, merchandise, tourism, and cultural exhibits and events. In addition, a screening event introduced excellent and new content to many Indonesia-based buyers.
Held at one of the country's biggest shopping malls, the event featured a performance by guest star In2it, a K-pop boy band. The purpose of this event was to introduce the energy and sophistication of Korean technology to the Indonesian people through Korean creative content and demonstrations of virtual reality games.
The four-day event attracted about 40,000 visitors, showing that Hallyu's flame is far from flickering in Indonesia. Many attendees said they were greatly interested in and felt entertained by this expo, which they hoped would be held every year.
