This illustration shows what was behind a curtain of lies and history distortion by Japan on the treatment of Korean victims of forced work: quasi-slavery, persecution of the Korean language and culture, executions, humiliation and Japan's exploitation of other nations to pursue development.

The Industrial Heritage Information Centre in Tokyo is one of many instruments the Japanese government has used to distort history. The girl who pulls back the curtain to present the truth represents justice, hope and the future as well as anyone who seeks to tell the truth to the world.
