Donguibogam Village is a theme park featuring traditional Korean medicine that is great for those seeking health, luck and positive energy.

Located by Wansan Mountain in Sancheong-gun County, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, the vast village has plenty to do for visitors. One day is not enough to explore the whole area, which is why accommodation is also offered there, as well as both traditional and modern facilities. Notable spots include the temples at the gi (energy) experiential center, the outdoor herbal theme park, the greenhouse medicinal herb hall and the Heojungil walking trail. These and other programs create a Korean medicine-themed experience.

The gi center offers a unique healing experience using heat, like a heating mat placed on the abdomen. The concept revolves around the idea that the optimal body condition has the lower body hot and the upper body cold. During times of stress or sickness, this energy balance is disrupted so it must be restored. This type of healing therapy holds many benefits like detoxifying the body, restoring gi, improving fertility, boosting blood circulation and fighting cancerous cells. The comfortable chairs are also extremely relaxing.

Another popular activity is the gongjindan experience, in which visitors can make their own gongjindan, a traditional and multi-herbal medicine described in the classic Korean medical textbook "Donguibogam." One excerpt from the book says it helps harmonize internal organs with one other. Nowadays, the medicine is often given as a gift and consumed for relieving stress and fatigue and enhancing memory. The village also allows visitors to make their own gongjindan balls. The medicine is premade but people wrap them in gold paper and package them to bring home and give to family or friends.

Visitors can also walk around the village wearing a royal physician's uniform for just KRW 3,000. This attire is not commonly available at tourist rental shops. Plus the many amazing temples here serve as backgrounds for great photo ops. Performing other Korean medicine-related activities while wearing the attire makes the experience more authentic.

For a unique, authentic and educational experience featuring traditional Korean medicine, Donguibogam Village is a can't-miss place.
