The K-pop super group BTS on Aug. 21 released its new single "Dynamite", which went on to top more than 100 iTunes charts worldwide. From YouTube and iTunes to Spotify, the disco-influenced tune has topped numerous streaming platforms and charts across the globe.

The hit attracted a record 100 million views on YouTube in the first 24 hours after its release and set another mark as the most-viewed YouTube video after its release with three million people simultaneously watching it. The video also surpassed 10 million views in just 21 minutes.

The B-side video for "Dynamite" released on Aug. 24 has attracted almost 30 million views. It also became the fastest song to top the iTunes charts of 104 countries and debuted at No. 1 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 with 7,778,950 streams.

BTS is also the first and only artist in iTunes history to achieve over 100 No. 1 hits with songs in three languages: Korean, Japanese and English. "Dynamite" is also the group's 26th music video to reach the mark of 100 million views, following those for hits like "Fire," "Blood, Sweat and Tears" and "Idol."

In a news conference, BTS members said they did not initially plan the release of their "Recharge Project." While working on their forthcoming album, however, they said the fun song cheered them up and made them want to share their energy with and encourage their fans amid COVID-19.

On Aug. 30 in New York, the group will perform "Dynamite" for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Meanwhile, Big Hit Entertainment, the group's management agency, announced last week an offline and online concert titled "Map of the Soul One" slated for October as the first "in-person" concert this year for BTS. The group's first self-produced album will also be released before year's end.
