By Honorary Reporter Tri Iva Fitriani from Indonesia

Darye is the traditional Korean tea ceremony that is over a millennium old. The three main types of the ceremony are royal for the king, his family and associates; seonbi for Confucian scholars; and friends, the most casual format.

I first experienced the ceremony in 2015 during my first visit to Korea. We meditated for a couple of minutes before the event began. The names of tea set pieces were a little bit confusing, but overall, it was enjoyable and relaxing. In addition to learning about traditional Korean culture, I also calmed my mind in the tea ceremony class.

So visiting Korea, please try a tea ceremony class to experience this Korean tradition.
