The Korean Cultural Centre (KCC) in London has an outstanding selection of online cultural events amid COVID-19. Its latest spring art program "A Viewing Room" provides an exciting and unique experience through moving works by Korean visual artists.

Through May 31, audiences can see screenings on the KCC's website of the program from the comfort of home. The exhibition was launched a year after the pandemic broke out. Each week features a different artist or artistic group and each video is selected by a member of the event's curatorial committee.

Details are provided on the artist or group and the film. The schedule and introductions for the program are on the KCC's website, but the videos can be viewed only at their scheduled times. An exhibition leaflet is also available for more information.

I especially enjoyed this week's film, Cha Jeamin's "Sound Garden," for showing how a close connection to nature and taking daily walks at nearby parks and forests have helped me maintain a positive mindset and improve my mental and physical health.

The film's theme is counseling. Interviews with four counselors describe the journey of pine trees to their planting destinations. Watching the trees and listening to the wind, fire crackling and other sounds are truly therapeutic.

Pine trees are usually associated with long life, strength and resilience, and even sadness. "Sound Garden" effectively combines various pine tree analogies with the accounts of the counselors, creating a powerful message.

This excellent series of artist videos is sure not to disappoint.
