Fans of BTS in Pakistan simply cannot get enough of the K-pop sensation's thought-provoking lyrics or foot-tapping beats. The group has stolen so many hearts of Pakistanis in all age groups.

Recently, the Pakistani branch of the BTS global fan community Army decided to pay homage to the group on Eid-ul-Adha, or the Muslim Festival of Sacrifice. For this reason, enthusiastic female members of Army showed their talent and creativity through innovative henna designs.

The application of henna is a prime example of a classic ritual in certain Islamic countries that goes back centuries. Henna is usually applied on the hands of females of all age groups to symbolize the arrival of a festivity or celebration like a wedding. Thus a henna tattoo that revolves around a figure like BTS is quite rare.

The patterns usually comprise floral prints or abstract designs, and to a far lesser extent, the inscription of names, initials or phrases. BTS fans in Pakistan, however, broke with the typical practice of the rest of Army worldwide by honoring their favorite band on one of the biggest holidays of the year for Muslims.

Phrases or terms in Hangeul were popular among the henna designs, not to mention the group's most famous chart-topping singles.

The temporary henna tattoos represent the strong bond between BTS and its legions of fans, and it was inspiring to see many use the names of the group's members, song lyrics and the standard Army logo in their designs. This was another example of how big the BTS fan base is in Pakistan, whose youths strive to uphold the group's messages of hope and self-love.
