Korean-themed sections at theme parks in Indonesia are helping Hallyu grow in Indonesia as an effective way to promote Korean culture there. Such venues offer Indonesians the chance to experience and learn Korean culture without visiting Korea.
The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) in Jakarta recently took the initiative to correct erroneous information about Korea at two parks in the province of West Java. From April 27-28, KCC Director Kim Yong-woon and his staff visited the parks to discuss cooperation in correcting mistakes and improving the facilities.
The first visit was to Jeju Park, which offers a look at traditional and modern Korea within Karang Resik Tourism Park in the city of Tasikmalaya. The park's management thanked the KCC for its support and suggestions and agreed to cooperate in correcting errors in Korean symbols, Hangeul text and traditional culture.
