The Netflix smash series "Squid Game" is so popular in Sri Lanka that it became the theme of a Halloween event at a Korean restaurant in the country.

Kang's Kitchen in Colombo has a second floor dedicated to K-pop, with the walls covered in posters of K-pop acts and K-pop tracks blasting from the sound system to create a lively atmosphere.

For Halloween this year, the restaurant set up an event under the theme "Squid Game." Guards with pink uniforms were at the door and serving food while the Front Man made sure things ran well.

Customers were invited to play three games from the show -- ddakji, (flipping folded paper tiles), cutting dalgona (honeycomb candy) and marbles -- after signing a form beforehand. Those who lost had to post a story on Instagram as a penalty and the winners received prizes.

Those who took part in the event posted their experiences on Instagram.

The event attracted visitors from all over the country and mostly positive responses.

Thamasha Akshani, 18, who visited the restaurant specifically to take part in the games, said, "I enjoyed the games so much. The food was so delicious and the staff was also very friendly. I had a great time.

Aamina Nazar, an online math tutor for children in the U.K. and an avid fan of Hallyu, said,
"The staff acted well in character and created an enjoyable atmosphere. They really outdid themselves as they not only served delicious food but hosted a unique event like this

And fellow Hallyu enthusiast Chathumi Thambovila, an engineering major at the University of Moratuwa, said, "The event was well organized. My friends and I enjoyed it a lot. It was a great Halloween experience."
