Korea is famous for its beautiful folktales, with each teaching a lesson like moral values or social norms that people should follow. That's why I read such stories to my children and teach lessons from them.

Among my favorites are "The Legend of Hong Gil-dong," "The Tiger and the Dried Persimmon," and "Heungbu and Nolbu." I especially enjoy the latter because of its emotional story.

A while ago, I visited the National Folklore Museum of Korea and felt as if I had gone back in time to the Joseon Dynasty. I took many photos there and my visit eventually inspired me to publish an illustrated book on a Korean folktale. I drew illustrations for the "Heungbu and Nolbu" tale combined with the photos I took at the museum to make a children's storybook.

My children love the book, which is my contribution to preserving beautiful Korean culture through its folktales. I hope more people around the world know about such stories and learn from them.
