The following are excerpts from an email interview with Kim a week after the wedding.

How did you get into Hanbok design?
I got into Hanbok design by accident after college. I originally wanted to enter the main fashion sector, but had the opportunity to work with Hanbok temporarily. I started my traditional clothing brand Hanboklynn in 2006 and House of Lynn in 2018.
What inspires your designs and what is your favorite thing to design?
My inspiration can come from a range of things like a furniture photo book, interior designs and hot fashion trends but even from old clothes. I also like to focus on women's clothing. I want to create something Western but with a Korean touch.
Lee Min-jeong has worked with celebrities and other clients in their pictorials, promotions and weddings over the years.
How did you get to design the wedding Hanbok of the celebrity couple?
I was introduced to the couple by my business wedding partner. The couple's stylist discussed Hanbok options and chose Hanboklynn. Park and Choi personally handpicked their Hanbok outfits for their prenuptial wedding photos and also requested customized Hanbok for their wedding. They are a cool and kind couple.
Beside traditional Hanbok, House of Lynn produces other types of clothing that feature a modern style with traditional Korean traits.
How have you promoted Hanbok?
To raise awareness of Korean heritage, I participate in Hanbok fashion shows, exhibitions and collaborations with industries. I also create Hanbok pieces for celebrity weddings, special events and Hanbok magazines. I've also designed lots of modern Hanbok dresses.
What motivates you in your work?
Hanbok is worthy of our pride because few nations in the world use their own traditional costumes. It should be worn on special days and treated with respect. This is why I share Korean culture with the world while preserving the beauty of Korean culture through my designs.
